Notes from a
Magpie

I have always been drawn to small things that say something about us.

When I was a baby, a family member gifted me a small silver brooch engraved with my name. I still have it today. Unlike so many things we are given as children, it never became something I outgrew. It simply moved with me, from one place to another, gathering years and meaning along the way.

I think that is what has always interested me about small personal objects: how something seemingly simple can become a quiet marker of who we are, where we’ve been, and the people and moments we carry with us. I’m drawn to things we choose to keep, because of what they represent, how they make us feel, or simply because they feel distinctly ours.

Follow The Magpie grew from this instinct to notice, collect and find meaning in the things that catch my eye. I create considered accessories from these ideas, exploring different forms, symbols and stories through each collection.

I’ve always loved the way a brooch can speak for an outfit. A small detail pinned to a coat, scarf, shirt or bag can change its whole feeling, while carrying something personal with it, a memory, a sentiment, a symbol, a little bit of luck.
