FAQ

Brass Care

Brass is a beautiful, living material. Its warm lustre naturally changes over time as it reacts with moisture in the air and the oils from our skin, developing a unique patina with wear. Unlike iron or steel, brass does not rust, and its original warmth and shine can always be brought back with the right care.

You can choose to embrace this natural ageing process and allow every mark and change to become part of your brooch, or restore its shine with a gentle polish using the Sunshine Polishing Cloth provided with your purchase.

The polishing cloth is reusable and can be used until it becomes completely blackened, at which point it should be replaced. For best results, polish gently and avoid excessive rubbing.

When not wearing your brooch, I recommend storing it in its box to help protect it from moisture.

For a deeper clean, Bar Keepers Friend Cream can be used sparingly with a soft microfibre cloth. Rinse thoroughly afterwards and dry completely before storing.
